Another LoOny Year Comes to a Close

Hello Noogman

Another year has gone by for the LoOnies. As it goes in life, many things have changed: We have enjoyed a time on the Alliance side honing skills, leveling new toons, and getting back on our feet again after patch 1.10.

Are we stronger than ever? Perhaps. I believe in the old addage that trials and tribulations make you stronger. This year has seen some tough times for the LoOnies, but we have risen above and emerged victorious. And by victorious, I mean that a few people got to see Rachel Ray’s boob.

Rachel's Manboobs

Others refrained.

Yearning in Xadi's loins?

But, many things have stayed the same, and this is what has stabilized us through our many trials and tribulations. Sometimes it’s just comforting to know that wherever you go your friends remain unchanged.

The Bat Smells Better

These things do affect us, whether we like it or not. Embrace it.

The Bat Does Smell Better

And if you’re having a tough time, Thundrax is always here to help. Because that’s just how he rolls.

Rachel and Bobblehead Wrasslin

We have taken a poll, the guild has spoken, and we have learned something very important: Some of us are becoming overly obsessed with Hello Kitty Online.

Hello Kitty Online World

Zug would hit it.

Now that I think about it, that picture is weirding me out. Are the chicken and pig looking up Hello Kitty’s dress and that’s why their eyes are all swirly? That’s what it looks like to me.

Forget it. Let’s move on.

Most of us are returning to the Horde for our day-to-day play, while a couple of us plan to hold down the fort on Alliance. The plan for now is to raid Alliance every third week, and all other weeks will be a regular Horde raid. Please keep in mind that just because we are planning on focusing our attention to Horde, it doesn’t mean you can’t request Alliance groups. We’re still one guild, and if your Alliance toon needs some instance quests done, post a request for help! Be sure to check the calendar and group/raid forums so we don’t have too many conflicts going on. That isn’t to say we can’t have an Alliance group going on while there is a Horde group - just make sure you can get enough people to go, and don’t be offended if a conflicting event has sucked up most of the resources. After all, we are back to being a small guild!

For everyone else, prepare yourselves for the return to the Horde in any way you can. I’m not sure if your brain can take the onslaught of idiots.

My gare is teh noobs?

I have no idea what Matelda said.

To kick off our return to the Horde, around the time of the expansion we will be holding another special event (back by popular demand!) so stay tuned. There will probably be prizes and picking on Zug, not to mention the obligatory haiku. It will not be a big scavenger hunt like the last one we had. There will be a little item gathering, but that will not be the main focus of the event. And I hear DocSeuss may come back to make an appearance for this special occasion.

Stay tuned for more news from the LoOnies. Have a very happy New Year!

The Winter Backtrack

Ah, it’s been a quiet and relaxing time for the LoO-TAB crew. Are you liking the quiet? Feeling all relaxed and calm? A bit zen, perhaps? You log in at night and maybe you don’t feel like doing quests… maybe you’ll just work your mojo at the Auction House or do some pvp? Or maybe wait for Fibet to get online so you can do some trivia and shoot the shit? Perhaps you’d like us to send someone by to fan you and feed you grapes while you chat with your peeps and lounge around?

Gallows is a Drill Sergeant

The expansion will be released in relatively a month, so for those of us who are not yet level 60 (like me), it’s time to get the lead out. Our current level 60’s are more than happy to do whatever it takes to help level you up. For months now, a lot of the guild has been level 60 and grouping, raiding, and leveling up other toons to pass the time. They’ve been on their own, left to their own devices. Or rather, Zug’s own devices.

Curil Cuts Lylyth Off

See what I mean? The fate of the guild is in your hands, noob. Please level to a minimum of level 56 so you can raid with the big kids.

Along the same vein, when the expansion is released the level cap will be raised to 70. New content will be released as well as two new races. This you already know. But in light of these changes, everyone is asking where we will place our focus when the expansion is released - Horde or Alliance? It’s impossible to make everyone happy and we wouldn’t ever attempt to dictate where everyone plays. However, it would be nice to try and coordinate things so that people aren’t playing alone every night. So we’re going to take it to a vote.

Head over to the member forums and place your vote. If you don’t like the options, then select “Other” and post your ideas below. If the majority vote doesn’t happen to be what you want, don’t despair - like I said above we aren’t going to dictate anyone’s playtime. Play where you want! However, if you would prefer to hang out wherever the majority of people will be, then this is an avenue to try and coordinate that.

And before you ask, raids will not be restricted to people who play where the majority of people are. Everyone with a LoO or TAB tag above their head and is of appropriate level is invited and encouraged to attend the weekly guild raid. As a reminder, we are also inviting friends to attend our groups and raids as well. If you have a friend who you think would be a good fit for the guild, invite them to hang out with us. At present, we are not aggressively seeking new members, but we are not opposed to adding people to the guild. In fact, new members would be a good thing.

NO I wont join ur guild

FINE THEN, BASTARD! YOUR DRESS IS A LITTLE TOO FRUITY FOR US, ANYWAY.

But there may be others you have met in your travels. I find that it’s really easy to meet people even though I don’t do pick up groups. For some bizarre reason, people just start talking to me for absolutely no reason at all. You may want to continue dialogue with some of these folks.

Branix is right behind u

Others… not so much.

Eilinnaris is a begging slackass

I suppose an alternative solution would be to ally with a guild or join another guild completely, but I personally have never found any other guild that would be a good match for our group.

Foshizzle mah Noobizzle!

No, that’s no good. Do you see what over-exposure of retards is doing to Ember?

Ember knows l33t speak

We can’t have that! After all we are a family guild! Unfortunately, the closest we’ve come to finding a family guild is the Night Seekers.

Night Seekers

100+ guild members and they are a family guild? They must be a mormon guild. They’re way too big for us. We need a group who is smaller and has the same sort of humor that we do - how about the Bouncing Bunny Brigade? They’re pretty new so they can’t be that big yet.

Bouncing Bunny Brigade

And it’s being advertised by a dude named Passa-da-bong. That’s quality.

No, it may be best to remain an independent entity and try to protect ourselves from the outside idiots. So be on the lookout for cool people who might be a good fit for us. If anyone invites you to join their pick up group, you know what to do.

run wc with my group?

Say NO!

Anyway, let’s backtrack and do our best to cover what may or may not have happened in the past month and a half that I indulged my slackass side and stopped posting. Here’s what happened:

A LOT

So here is something that I have screenshots of. A couple of weeks ago, or whenever it was, we tromped back to Horde, packed up, and went to UBRS. It was the best UBRS loot run we’ve had in a long, long while. Would you like to know why? Probably because of the same reason we were able to conquer the Baron so many moons ago without a warrior or mage - WoW instances recognize the power of pirates and ninjas.

Pirates & Ninjas

Grim even joined us for the event!

Grim loves us

And off we went! It all went off without a hitch and the phat lewts flowed. That bastard in the Hatchery even decided to drop priest shoulders for Arcadi for the first time ever. I guess it’s true what they say - the 2938472938473928374th time is a charm.

Devout Mantle

We were also in our fine, usual form. Strategy discussion in officer chat was quick and precise.

Strategy

In the end, a couple of flasks dropped and Caul got the shadowcraft tunic. The Dal’Rends set also dropped and I have to say that I never thought I’d see the day when no one would want them. Anyway, grats on everyone and their phat lewts.

Stay tuned for more news - I would review everything that is pending in the LoO follow-up folder, but I don’t have time right now!
